In a generous move to support higher education in the community, the Neel family, on behalf of Jean Beall Neel, recently presented a donation of $5,000 to the Chipola Trio Society. This annual contribution is specifically aimed at closing the financial gap faced by college students in need, ensuring that more students can pursue their educational goals without the burden of financial constraints.

Jean Beall Neel, a native of Jackson County, was committed to supporting educational opportunities in our area; in particular, she was interested in supporting students who showed promise but lacked the necessary resources to complete their college educations. Mrs. Neel was a faithful woman who lived her life serving others in her home, her family, and her community. Through this donation, the Neel family hopes to continue her commitment to education by providing essential support to students who may otherwise struggle to achieve their academic dreams.

Chipola Trio Society has been a vital part of Chipola College for many years and provides a range of services aimed at assisting students from disadvantaged backgrounds. These services include academic tutoring, financial aid counseling, and career guidance. The society’s mission is to empower students to succeed in higher education and beyond.

“We are incredibly grateful for the Neel family’s continued support,” said Kristie Mosley, Chipola Trio Society Sponsor and Director of Student Support Services. “This donation will make a significant difference in the lives of our students, helping them to overcome financial inadequacies and to focus on their studies.”

The Neel family’s contribution is expected to help numerous students bridge the gap between aspiration and achievement.  As the cost of higher education continues to rise, donations like this one are crucial in ensuring that all students, regardless of their financial situation, have the opportunity to succeed. The Chipola Trio Society, with the support of the Neel family and other donors, remains committed to its mission of fostering educational equity and success for all.
