Chipola College Alumni Association Announces $1 Million Legacy Fundraising Campaign
Chipola College and the Chipola Alumni Society announced the launch of the public phase of its Legacy Fundraising Campaign at a press conference held on September 10, 2024 on the beautiful Chipola Campus. The goal of the Legacy Campaign is $1 Million.
As part of this new initiative started by Chipola’s Alumni Association, four generous members from the Class of 1966- who make up the Legacy Society- have volunteered their time, effort and resources during the quiet phase of the campaign. Their collective contribution of nearly $500,00 along with other donations has yielded the campaign with a total of $560,000 to date in the form of planned, pledged and cash donations.
The Legacy Campaign is focusing on Planned and Pledged Giving. Planned Giving refers to the intention of a donor to make a future gift as part of their estate, examples include bequests, charitable trusts, life insurance policies, and retained life estates. Pledged Giving refers to the commitment of a donor to give a specific dollar amount in scheduled installments. Both pledged and planned donations are recorded in writing at the time gift is committed to be included in Chipola’s Legacy Campaign.
“This is a shining example of our alumni’s enduring spirit and unwavering commitment to the future of Chipola College,” says Dr. Arlene Davis, dean of Chipola’s School of Business and Fundraising Representative.
The press conference included alumni from the Class of 1966 who shared stories of their time at Chipola and why they choose to give back. In alignment with Chipola’s theme for the 2024-25 school year, the Power of One comes into play. One Moment, One Deed or even One Instructor made the difference in where they are today. These stories remind us that One Contribution can also make a difference. Donations can be directed towards scholarships, towards a particular program or towards the College’s greatest needs.
