Chipola Students Visit Eastern Shipbuilding

Chipola College students in the Construction, Welding and Engineering Technology programs, recently visited the Eastern Shipbuilding facilities in Allenton and Port St. Joe. The company is currently renovating the Staten Island Ferry. Chipola provides a pipeline of skilled talent for jobs with companies such as Eastern Shipbuilding. Darwin Gilmore, Chipola Dean of Workforce Development, says, “There are hundreds of jobs related to the types of industrial skills we are training for on our campus. Working together with these manufacturing partners keeps our programs healthy and provides a path for our graduates to obtain meaningful careers and remain in the region.”
