Letter to Students

Published:

To All Chipola College Students,

The College is committed to the safety and well-being of all students, faculty and staff and continues to monitor guidelines provided by the CDC and health officials.

It is important that each individual take personal responsibility for their own health and the health of those around them.  Face coverings are not required in College buildings but are recommended to ensure the health and safety of the entire Chipola community.

The College strongly encourages unvaccinated students to get vaccinated as soon as possible.  Please, consult your health care providers with any questions or concerns about the vaccines.

The College, with assistance from Florida Department of Health Jackson County, has scheduled a Vaccination Event for all Chipola students, faculty, and staff.  This event is open to anyone in the local community.  The initial date is scheduled during the first week of fall classes to make it as easy and convenient as possible.

1st Vaccination Event – Tuesday, August 24           10 am – 2 pm in the Cultural Center

2nd Vaccination Event – Tuesday, September 21    10 am – 2 pm in the Cultural Center

PLEASE NOTE:   COVID related absences are now being treated as all other illness related absences.  Students should work with their instructors regarding the possibility of making up missed assignments.

Do not come to campus if you are exposed to COVID -19, test positive, or experience symptoms of COVID-19.  You are expected to notify Associate Vice President of Student Affairs Bonnie Smith by email or phone at 850-718-2451 or smithb@chipola.edu.

For additional information regarding quarantine, please contact Ms. Smith.

We look forward to your return with the expectations of a great semester!
