Gabby Bess Named State Softball Player of The Week

Chipola’s Gabby Bess is the FCSAA Softball Player of the Week for Jan. 25.

The freshman infielder from Marianna, Fla., batted .642 (9-for-14) with six runs scored, one home run, nine RBI and four stolen bases in six games. Bess hit safely in five of six games for the Indians. She ended the weekend by going 3-for-3 with four RBI vs. McLennan. The Chipola baseball and softball teams both are ranked second in the Florida FCSAA Polls for Jan. 25.

The Lady Indians (3-3) are tied for second in the FCSAA Poll with Central Florida. Northwest Florida state is sixth and Pensacola is eighth.
