Chipola Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew” will be presented on June 16-18 in local communities. The traveling troupe will perform on June 16 at 7 p.m. at the Madison Street Park in Marianna and on June 17 at 7 p.m. at the Farmer’s Market in Chipley.

The 2 p.m. June 18 performance at Clarksville has been moved indoors to the Experimental Theatre inside the Chipola College Prough Center for The Arts building.

In Shakespeare’s comedy, a wandering braggart Petruchio wants a wealthy wife, and nothing else matters—she can be ugly as sin and a holy terror. He meets Kate, the shrewish daughter of a rich man. She's beautiful. But she's a holy terror. And Petruchio must "tame" even as he falls for her!

A general admission price of $5 will be collected at the site.  Admission is free for Chipola staff and students. Patrons are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket.
