Course Description:This course covers the practical application of setting up, inspecting and making minor repairs to Flux Cored Arc Welding equipment and accessories, operating FCAW equipment, making fillet and groove welds all positions, on plain carbon steel. The student will practice skills relating to personal safety in accordance with regulating authorities, environmental practices, workplace communication and employability skills.

This course is a cooperative, competency-based learning program with required classroom lecture classes, learning activity guides, videos, handouts, hands-on instruction, DVD, and computer-assisted instruction. Scheduled program workshops, seminars, special assigned projects, and style show attendance is required for credit.
