Course Description:
This course will provide registered nurses, who are returning to school to earn a Baccalaureate degree, an opportunity to advance professional practice concepts. As designed, the course engages the student intellectually in an ongoing professional dialogue and journey with peers, colleagues, and instructors that serves to broaden the student’s professional development and builds on pre-existing knowledge and experiences. The course curriculum is written for adult learners with the characteristics of self-direction, prior experience, applicability to practice, and motivation to meet the challenge and expand their knowledge base and to utilize advanced critical thinking skills.

Means of accomplishing learning outcomes:

The instructor will assign and evaluate the mid-semester quiz based on the assigned readings. The instructor will assign and provide feedback to students on assignments: discussions, PowerPoint presentation, and a paper.

 

Alternate Grading Scale

This course uses an alternate grading system that differs from the college-wide grading scale. The following scale indicates a student's standing in the course:
A – 90 – 100
B – 80 – 89
C – 75 – 79
D – 60 – 74
F – 59 or less
