Course Description:This is a basic course in which the knowledge and understanding of the facilities policies and procedures as well as being prepared to respond appropriately to minimize safety and security concerns are studied. Objectives are addressed as specified by the criminal justice standards and training commission.

Means of accomplishing learning outcomes:
Lecture is the primary method of instruction. Students are expected to be attentive and are encouraged to ask questions. Lectures will come primarily from the textbook in formats that may include power point presentations, white board illustrations, videos, and web-based technologies and student discussion on specific topics.
