Course Description:A laboratory course intended to be taken concurrently with BSC 2011. Laboratory experiences correlate with the lecture topics in the structure and function of plants and animals and ecology. Activities include dissection of fetal pigs, non-seed and seed plants and may include field trips. Two hours laboratory per week.

Means of accomplishing learning outcomes:
Laboratory activities are primarily hands-on, designed to reinforce lecture topics. The faculty will introduce the weekly topic and demonstrate the laboratory procedure.
Student centered: Laboratory topics are designed to correlate with the lecture material to aid in student understanding. Students will actively engage in weekly laboratory activities, completing lab station assignments, and show mastery of the topics through taking lab practicals.
ACE Lab tutors: Student tutors are available in the lab to provide individualized help. Hours can be found posted each semester on the lab door and/or via the web site.
Office appointments will be made to discuss progress, as needed.
