Course Requirements

This is a 1200 hour-12 month certificate program with limited enrollment. A high school diploma or GED is required with program entry. The TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education) must be completed for admission into the program.

Students learn communication and employability skills; develop safe and efficient work practices; learn applicable Florida cosmetology law and rules; become knowledgeable of the cosmetology industry; develop a working knowledge of chemistry, bacteriology, anatomy and physiology in relation to the field; learn the art of make-up, and develop skills in performing the manipulative and electrical techniques required in the practice of cosmetology.

Hours are Monday – Thursday from 7:30am to 3:30pm.

Upon completion of this course, students are prepared to take the licensing exam required by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
