Applying for Admission

To apply for admission and enroll for academic and workforce development classes you must complete the following steps:

Step #1 - Application for Admission

Submit an Application for Admission as soon as you decide to attend Chipola. Come by, write, or call the Admissions and Records Office at (850) 718-2211 to request an application or you can print one from your computer by clicking on, Application for Admission or apply online at www.facts.org. A Residency Affidavit must be completed for all students. Failure to provide adequate proof of residency will result in the student being classified as non-Florida for tuition purposes. The Florida Legislature allows Chipola College the option of providing Alabama and Georgia residents a different tuition assessment. They are assessed in-state tuition plus $1.00 per credit hour. Alabama and Georgia residents must complete the Residency Affidavit for the Differential Tuition Plan to receive this tuition assessment.

Students interested in applying for the BS degree programs in Secondary Mathematics Education and Secondary Education must complete the Baccalaureate Application Supplement. For more information contact the University Center at (850) 718-2276.

When applying for admission always refer to the college calendar for application and registration dates and deadlines.

Step #2 - Official Transcripts

College Credit Students - Request your "official" high school transcript or a copy of your GED scores, and/or all "official" college transcripts from every college you have attended to be sent directly to the Admissions and Records Office after completion of all grades and/or graduation. All official transcripts must be on file in the Admissions and Records Office before you can be accepted for admission and register for classes. Fax and student copies are not official documents.

For your convenience in requesting transcripts, print and use the "Previous College/High School Transcript Request Form" to send to your previous schools.

Certificate Clock-hour Students - Admission and transcript requirements depend upon the program of study. Several programs do not require a high school diploma. The certificate programs in Health Sciences and Public Service has strict entrance requirements as well as limited enrollment. Contact the college for specific program information and admission requirements.

What happens next?

After Admissions and Records has received all of the above items, you will be mailed an acceptance notice. Then a few weeks before registration Students Services will send your advising and registration appointment. Your adviser will help in selecting and scheduling your classes and completing your registration.
