Mu Alpha Theta is a national honorary mathematics club for students who have completed or are currently enrolled in any second math course above the level of MAC 1105. (If you are currently enrolled in your second math course above Mac 1105, membership is contingent on your math GPA including your grade for the second course. I will hold any checks until grades are posted and your membership is confirmed. If you are not eligible, your money will be returned to you.) You must have a minimum 3.5 GPA in all Math courses above Mac 1105 with a minimum overall 3.3 GPA in all college work. Since membership in Mu Alpha Theta is based solely on academic achievement, participation in this organization reflects math excellence when listed on a resume. As an honorary organization, the club meets only twice a year. The major commitment to the organization is assisting the Math Department with the annual Math Olympiad held in the spring.
If you meet the above criteria and wish to be considered for membership in Mu Alpha Theta, please fill in this information sheet. Return it and the membership fee of $7.00 to your instructor or to Mrs. Parish (sponsor) by Thursday, February 11. Checks should be made payable to Chipola College. The first meeting for the organization will be held Wednesday, February 24 at 7:30 a.m. during the spring semester.
If you have any questions please call Mrs. Parish at 526-2761, EXT 3383, or email her at parishj@chipola.edu.
Fill in the information below. If you are not sure of some of the info, estimate. I will check.
