Candice Gist

Gist comes to Chipola from the
University of Evansville after serving a year as
the Women’s Director of Basketball Operations,
where she was responsible for film exchange,
team travel arrangements, and community service.
Prior to Evansville, Gist was at Wabash Valley
Community College in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, where
she served as the Warriors’ assistant coach and
helped with all aspects of the women’s
basketball program. Gist began her coaching
career in 2007 at Harvest Preparatory High
School in Columbus, Ohio.
Gist played
collegiately at Ohio Valley University in
Vienna, West Virginia, where she was a
three-year starter for the Fighting Scots. Gist
ranked among the team’s top four in scoring in
each of her three seasons as a starter, while
compiling over 764 points offensively. A
backcourt leader for the Fighting Scots, Gist
racked up 58 three-point field goals made in her
three seasons as a starter, while also swiping
66 steals defensively.
Gist graduated
from Ohio Valley with a bachelors of science
degree in psychology in 2007. She is originally
a native of Dayton, Ohio.
