Offense leads to 11-9 win over Alabama Southern

Chipola held on to a 11-9 win over Alabama Southern in Monroeville, Alabama. The Indians led 11-2 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning, but surrounded seven runs during the last three innings. Chipola got off to a quick start scoring four first inning runs with two-outs on a Ryan Chaffee RBI double and a three-run double by Moises Montero which plated Jordan Lucas, Chaffee, and Carlos Moncrief. The Indians added five runs during the seventh inning. Brett Maxwell led off the seventh inning with his first home run of the season, followed by RBI singles by Edmond Sparks and Daniel Jones. Chipola was led at the plate by Chaffee (3-4, 2 2B's, 2 RBI's), Maxwell (2-3, 2B, HR, 2 RBI's), and Sparks (2-3, 1 RBI).
Chipola starting pitcher Kyle Regnault earned his third win of the year, throwing 5.1 innings, striking out two batters. Chipola's next game will be Thursday, March 6th at 2:00 CST versus Grand Rapids (MI).
