With the score 5-2 entering the ninth inning, Chipola pushed across two runs and had the winning run in scoring position with two outs, but a ground out by Einar Atencio couldn't drive them across. The Eagles knotted the score at 2-2 until the eighth inning. Tallahassee scored three in the top of the eighth, capped off by a Devin Gonzalez RBI single. The Indians answered with two in the bottom of the ninth, but couldn't overcome the three run deficit. The Indians were led offensively by Adam Duvall (2-3, 1 RBI) and Daniel Jones (2-4, 1 RBI).
Chipola starter Ryan Chaffee took his third loss of the season. Chaffee went 7.2 innings, giving up five hits, two earned runs, and striking out nine. The Indians next game will be Tuesday, March 18th versus Pensacola in Marianna at 5:00 CST.
