Bumgarner leads Chipola to 5-4 win over Lake City

Tyler Bumgarner drove in Daniel Jones in the bottom of the ninth to brake a 4-4 tie to lead Chipola past Lake City, 5-4.  Bumgarner also added a 2-RBI single which plated Moises Montero and Adam Duvall.  The Indians' scoring started in the first inning with a 2-out solo homerun by Jordan Lucas, which made to score 1-0.  Lake City added a single run in the fifth.  The Indians answered behind the Timberwolves on a Bumgarner 2-RBI single to push the score to 3-1.  Each team added single run to make the score, 4-2 heading into the ninth inning.  Lake City scored two runs on a Kelvin Clark homerun to tie the score at 4-4.  The Indians' ninth inning rally started with a Jones one-out single.  Jones advanced to second on a Duvall single.  Bumgarner drove Jones in with one-out single to end the game.

Chipola starting pitcher Matt Jackson produced another solid start.  Jackson threw seven innings, giving up one run on six hits and striking out seven batters.  Jason Townsend collected his fourth win of the season, throwing two innings in relief.  The Indians were led offensively by Bumgarner (3-4, 3 RBI's), Marc Bourgeois (2-4),  Duvall (2-4, 1 RBI), and Lucas (2-4, HR, 1 RBI).  The Indians next game will be this weekend versus St. Petersburg College.  The three game series game times are Friday at 6:00 CST, Saturday at 1:00 CST and Sunday at 12:00 CST.
