Florida Educator Accomplished Practices (FEAPS) And Related Tasks

The six FEAPs, approved by the Florida State Board of Education in 1996, describe the required professional competencies that successful teachers in Florida should master.  Students in Chipola’s Teacher Education programs must demonstrate each of the FEAPs at the preprofessional level at least three times prior to graduation.

The FEAPs are:

5  Continuous Professional Improvement

6  Professional Responsibility and Ethical Conduct

6.1 The student adheres to the Code of Ethics and the Principles of Professional Conduct of the Education Profession of Florida.

6.2 The student identifies statutory grounds and procedures for disciplinary action, the penalties that can be imposed by the Educational Practices Commission against a certificate holder, and the appeals process available to the individual.

6.3 The student applies knowledge of rights, legal responsibilities, and procedures for reporting incidences of abuse, neglect, or other signs of distress.

6.4 The student identifies and applyies policies and procedures for the safe, appropriate, and ethical use of technologies.
