All BAS in Business Management students must take 30 semester hours of required BAS Core Courses. In addition, BAS students will take 30 semester hours in their course of study. The BAS degree offers three areas of concentration: Supervision and Management, General Management, and Accounting. Students must choose one of these three disciplines and should consult with their academic advisor to determine which is most appropriate based on their goals and backgrounds.
Core Courses: All BAS students must take the required upper-level Core Courses.
CURRICULUM GUIDES
Supervision and Management: Many BAS students have earned Associate degrees (AA, AS, AAS) in non-business fields and have now decided to pursue a BAS degree in Business Management that will expand their understanding in supervision and management practices and prepare them for a broad range of business opportunities. Because their Associate Degree did not require the completion of the eight Florida common business prerequisites, Supervision and Management is the appropriate area of study for these students. As is the case with all BAS concentrations, this option prepares students to work in a wide range of business settings, continue to graduate school, and establish their own business.
General Management: BAS students who have earned an AA, AS, or AAS degree, have completed the eight Florida common business prerequisites, have completed the 36 semester general education requirement, and are not interested in Accounting should select this area of study. As is the case with all BAS areas of concentration, this option prepares students to work in a wide range of business settings, continue to graduate school, and establish their own business.
Accounting: BAS students who have earned an AA, AS, or AAS degree, have completed the eight Florida common business prerequisites, have completed the 36 semester general education requirement, and are interested in a career in accounting should select this area. As is the case with all BAS areas of concentration, this option prepares students to work in a wide range of business settings, continue to graduate school, and establish their own business.
* Common Business Prerequisites: CGS 1100, ACG 2021, ACG 2071, ECO 2013, ECO 2023, MAC 2233, STA 2023 (or STA 2122)
